Advisory Group Member Steve Pate (LT, USN Chaplain Corps)
Chaplain Steve Pate, a native of Lewisburg, TN graduated in 2008 from Freed-Hardeman University with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies with concentrations in Greek and Biblical Languages.
He graduated from Harding School of Theology in 2015 with a Master in Divinity and was commissioned as a Reservist in the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps in 2016 and in 2019 was commissioned as an Active Duty service member. Before serving in the Navy, he preached 4 years as the Pulpit Minister at Ostella Church of Christ in Cornersville, TN.
He worked 6 years as an Associate and Youth Minister at Minerva Drive Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, TN. He served 5 years as the Adult Education Ministry Team Leader at Sycamore View Church of Christ in Memphis TN.
Finally, he has served in the Reserves as a Chaplain for NOSC Memphis Ops Support 1346 for 1 year. He was the Tactical Chaplain for the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing: Marine Wing Support Squadron 471 in Minneapolis for 2 years, and was mobilized at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes in Chicago, IL for 4 months and at US Marine Corps Force Reserves Headquarters Battalion for 4 months.
Chaplain Pate currently serves as the Deputy Command Chaplain at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. He is also a former CrossFit Level I Coach who now pioneers tying in fitness with spiritual fitness development in military units.
